In the mood for some tennis? Whether you’re just getting started or you’re an experienced tennis player, the area in and around Fort Worth boasts so many places to enjoy our favorite sport.

In fact, there are so many great facilities, it can be hard to know where to start. So, Hiley Subaru of Fort Worth put together this list of some of the best local places for tennis.

McLeland Tennis Center

If you’re looking for a place to play tennis without traveling far, you can’t go wrong with McLeland Tennis Center. Located right in Fort Worth, this tennis center boasts an array of ways to enjoy your favorite game. It features 14 outdoor tennis courts and two indoor tennis courts as well as six pickleball courts and a pro shop. McLeland Tennis Center also offers activities for tennis players of all ages and skill levels, so you’re sure to find the perfect way to get into the game.

The Junior program at McLeland Tennis Center has everything from true beginner activities for red ball players starting at 4 years old to teenagers interested in playing tennis in college or even going pro. The center also features various drills and classes for adults to improve singles or doubles play. Adult activities are offered for beginners to advanced players.

Really looking to up your game? You can book private lessons with certified pros here too. Lessons are available in 30-minute, one-hour, and longer blocks, and you can take lessons on your own or with a friend or family member — or doubles partner! Hour-long lessons range from $65 to $80. Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center and Bartzen Varsity Courts at TCU

The Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center and Bartzen Varsity Courts at Texas Christian University is another gem located in Fort Worth. If you’re a student, faculty, or staff member at TCU, you can use the tennis center’s outdoor courts. The Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center and Bernard J. “Tut” Varsity Courts are known as one of the finest collegiate athletics tennis facilities out there, and they host the men’s and women’s tennis programs of the university.

The tennis center has both indoor and outdoor facilities, with 27 courts in total. That includes six varsity tennis courts and five indoor courts reserved for the university’s tennis programs and 16 courts available for public use. The outdoor section also boasts a pavilion that can seat up to 1,500 people, locker facilities, and a fully-stocked pro shop. The courts are also recessed to provide wind control and remove viewing obstructions.

The center also offers a variety of ways for those not on the university tennis teams to get involved. It offers private lessons, semi-private lessons, adult group lessons, and adult cardio-based and instructional-based drills as well as a junior development program. The latter features private lessons and clinics for ages eighth grade and below, along with practices and individual instructions for high school students.

You’ll find the Bayard Friedman Tennis Center at 3609 Bellaire Drive North, Fort Worth, TX 76109. It’s located at the southwest corner of the TCU campus.

Arlington Tennis Center

You’ll also find an assortment of amazing places to play tennis just beyond Fort Worth, starting with the Arlington Tennis Center in nearby Arlington. This award-winning public facility in south Arlington boasts accolades from the state as well as national recognition.

There’s something for everyone here, from the 26 lighted outdoor courts to the six children’s courts. You can also make use of the locker rooms with showers, a full-service pro shop, and a concession area. ATC offers recreational leagues for men and women, not to mention leagues, classes, and drills for tennis players of all skill levels and ages.

This is also the place to go for special tennis events in the area. ATC hosts sanctioned tournaments, national events, and even the U.S. Open Sectional Qualifying tournament. You’ll find ATC at 500 W. Mayfield Road, Arlington, TX 76014.

Southlake Tennis Center

Southlake Tennis Center is another award-winning public tennis center close to Fort Worth. STC has served the community from Southlake since 1999. It’s also the largest public tennis facility in northeast Tarrant County.

The city-owned facility is located in Southlake’s Bicentennial Park. It boasts 19 lighted hard courts and strives to provide top-tier instruction for tennis players of all levels, starting with beginners and continuing through tournament level. That means everything from leagues to drills to private lessons to tournaments for juniors and adults is available at STC.

STC is open seven days a week and maintains a full year-round schedule. You’ll find it in Bicentennial Park, located at 450 W. Southlake Blvd., Southlake, TX 76092.

Richland Tennis Center

Think we’ve run out of award-winning public facilities around Fort Worth? Think again. The Richland Tennis Center is yet another nearby spot you’ll want to have on your list.

With 16 outdoor lighted courts, along with a locker room with showers and a fully stocked pro shop, RTC is a great place to play tennis close to Fort Worth. RTC has programming for tennis players of all ages and abilities too.

From group lessons and private lessons to drill sessions and tournaments, RTC makes tennis fun. The center is located at 7111 NE Loop 820, North Richland Hills, TX 76180.

T Bar M Racquet Club

Head over to Dallas for another great tennis facility. That’s where you’ll find T Bar M Racquet Club, offering a huge team of tennis professionals ready to take your game to the next level. You’ll find everything from clinics to social tennis events here, so whether you’re new to tennis or training to be an elite player, you can count on T Bar M Racquet Club to have what you need.

The 6,000-square-foot center features an abundance of facilities, including 28 championship tennis courts comprised of eight indoor courts, six Har-Tru clay courts, and 14 outdoor hard courts. There’s also a full chiropractic and wellness center and fitness facility with Pilates, yoga, and spin classes available.
